BAD MONITORING
STEALS YOUR GRAMMY

*Most studios do not have a truly flat frequency response. They have modal dips and peaks that even software can't even out. The X1 fixes this with room independance and flat tuning, allowing your monitoring to rival the flattest studios in the world.

FLAT SOUND FROM LAPTOPS TO ANALOG CONSOLES

No room treatment required. The X1 individual calibration follows you to any device. Plugin independent.

Calibration is the "final mile" in delivering perfectly flat frequency response. All our headphones are very well tuned out of the box and measured in quality control. By measuring every individual unit we can capture any deviations in sound quality that comes from material tolerances for a specific unit. Calibration fixes these and frequency response beyond what's possible with acoustic design alone.Unit specific calibration can achieve an incredibly low tolerance of approximately ~1dB to the selected frequency target. For illustration purpose, generic software calibrations like Sonarworks Sound ID or Waves NX can only achieve about ~3dB.Unit Specific Calibration II (USC II) includes a software plugin (powered by Realphones) and a calibration data file generated using the power of AI processing. The plugin comes in AU, VST and AAX format for Mac and Win users and is also available in standalone version. The calibration data file is in XPS format that enables manual export of exact EQ values to any 3rd party EQ plugin or DSP enabled hardware; for example: RME TotalMix, Neumann Mission Control, UA console and others.Calibration includes:

  • OLLO USC II plugin (AU, VST, AAX)
  • OLLO USC II standalone app (Mac and Win)
  • USC II calibration data file compatible with Realphones and Waves Nx
  • Open data file for easy export to any 3rd party EQ or DSP enabled hardware

We believe in fair pricing all year long.

Free beats, gigs and mixes are all disrescpectful and are killing the industry. Everyone should be paid fairly and accordingly. So we do not offer discounts per se (not even on Black Friday and Cyber Monday) as we don't support that mentality.

We do lower the price when there is a good reason to do so. And we have three!

1. B STOCK UNITS

Generic calibration software typically hits a tolerance of around 3dB from their target, often based on the Harman curve or something similar. In contrast, OLLO headphones are acoustically flat, with a tighter tolerance of about 2dB to our studio headphones standard without any software calibration.

This means they match our target curve more closely without any calibration than when using generic plugins to "correct" them.

Generic calibration means taking the average response of a few units and using that for any unit as the source data set. Imagine measuring a few generic rooms and apply their EQ settings to your room?! You'd never do that, of course not.

That's why they're limited to about ~3dB tolerance accuracy and can never achieve the level of precision of the USC calibration you get with us.

How do we achieve that?

The USC removes manufacturing variances and enhances frequency response beyond what's typically possible (with acoustics only) for each individual unit.

This is achievable because we meticulously test each unit during quality control, allowing us to customize the calibration precisely for that unit.

Generic calibration software solutions often advertise "individual calibration services," which require you to send in your headphones and pay a premium. For instance, Sonarworks charges €149 for this service, plus shipping costs and an additional €99 for the Sound ID license, totaling nearly €300.

With OLLO USC, you receive individual calibration and the USC license included when you purchase our headphones or as a flat-rate €49 upgrade for older models!

For the geeks disecting every word:

A tolerance of ~0.5 is generally acceptable in our official reports and documentation. This does not include HRTF - KB500 by GRAS resonances, as we avoid correcting anything with a Q factor above 1.2. This limitation is due to the current capabilities of ear simulators on the market, which can lead to poor sound quality if there's a mismatch between the simulator's and the end user's HRTF. We utilize a variety of systems, ear simulators, sources, and targets, and we always clearly specify the tools and methods used near any claims, charts, or datasets we present. For instance, we detail smoothing steps, source signals, and compensations applied. When referencing competitors' claims, we rely on their officially published materials or data obtained in the lab using well-defined and disclosed scientific methods and tools. We mention their brands or product names strictly for comparative purposes (fair use). It's worth noting that they produce excellent products.

If you're using the 2.0 edition or later, you can import the calibration file directly. Otherwise, you'll need to manually input the calibration values into the EQ section of the plugin.

Thank you for your support! You can keep using the USC I with all types of headphones, including the X1. Feel free to also use the USC II and import your calibration file from the USC I seamlessly. It's perfectly fine to have both plugins installed on your system.
